Level Builder

Being fairly new to Unity and Game development in general, most of my time during the original Jam was spent just getting the game to work. I knew I really wanted to have a simple in game level creator, but I wasn't going to be able to make it for the first Jam. So, I decided this time I really wanted to focus on creating the Level editor. The previous way I was creating levels was quite tedious and ended up being a Unity custom asset file. So I didn't end up make very many levels, as they were mostly designed on paper. But now the files are saved simply in JSON and they are much easier to convert between the Level Player and Level Builder sides of my game. Now that I can quickly and easily make levels, I am ready to tackle the feedback from the last Jam and any new feedback from this one.

Updates:

  • Refactored code, including how levels are saved/loaded
  • Created in-game level editor

The Levels (should) get saved in the "Levels" folder where the exe file is. I guess you can share the levels you made if you want.

Thanks for Playing!
